Affordable Housing in Glaisdale Parish - - (Entry last updated 20th January 2012) Update October 2010** Sanctuary Housing have now been granted planning permission to build the 11 housing units as set out on the revised plans. (see below) After some protracted negotiations with the landowners, ownership of the plot has now been secured and Sanctuary Housing have also been successful in obtaining the neccessary funding from the Homes and Communities Agency within the current financial year. This means that the work will go out to tender this autumn with the intention to commence building work in late January for completion sometime in November 2011. To see the revised plans please click here. Update January 2011** Sanctuary Housing have now closed the tender process and have since appointed 'Bramall Construction' as principal contractor. Individuals/Families having an interest in renting/part purchase of any of the properties should make contact as below :
Update January 2012** Sanctuary Housing have now identified individuals/families who qualify under the local occupancy conditions and will be making offers of tenancy to those opting for rented accommodation within the coming days and hope to have the properties occupied by 31st January.
Parish Council Elections 2011- (Entry last updated 27th April 2011) Councillors returned for the 2011 - 2015 term of office are listed on the 'Contacts' page of this website. They will take office on 9th May 2011. ** There exists a vacancy for one councillor to serve for the Glaisdale Ward of the parish. Anyone who may be interested in serving on the council for the new term should contact the Clerk asap to discuss matters of elegibility and to arrange a meeting with the council at the earliest convenient time. **
Potential uses for old railway signal box at Glaisdale station. Update February 2011** EVRDC have informed GPC that the hoped for funding from the 'Leader Scheme' application has been delayed due to implications of reduced government funding support not yet being clear. The application will be held by 'Leader' until it is known what the new funding settlements from govt.are to be, although it is expected that significant reductions to previous years will be applied. For the time being this project is on hold!
